Very late to the bloglovin game, and now that I’ve joined I’m completely overwhelmed by all the beautiful blogs out there. All the while realizing that some of the most successful blogs are fashion blogs, featuring mostly photographs, amazing photographs, and short copy like this;
“I’ve never been one to embrace plaid, but there’s something about these Madewell trousers that I love. I paired them with a longsleeve tee by Madewell, Theyskens’ Theory navy leather jacket, vintage sterling silver jewelry, and Jimmy Choo pumps.” – karla’s closet
If you want a taste of these beautifully dressed bloggers chased by an amazing photographer taking equally as beautiful “natural” photos on cobblestone streets, sign up to bloglovin and follow these damsels; can’t forget about the men too because they’re respectively dressed handsomely and dapper.
I’m sure you sense the sarcasm, but part of it is that I’m curious if my blog would garner more followers if I turned it into a plain Jane collection of photos of me on a regular basis in what I consider my “fashionable” garbs i.e. simple/basics.
Do blogs perform better when they are more photo heavy and less original writing? Or no writing at all? I’m swaying toward a yes especially because of the sharing functionality with Pinterest and Tumblr which will help engage a larger audience with just one great photo. Furthermore, are we pulling away from what blogs originally were? Outlets for writing on the internet?
Without getting too deep and philosophical… here are some of my recent favorites from these royal “personal style” fashion bloggers. Enjoy.
