I’m not a big holiday celebrator, outside of the typical Christmas holiday decorating, shopping/wrapping, family functions Christmas eve/day — so when it comes to “holiday fun” like Secret Santa’s, holiday parties, too much holiday cheer (while so unlike me,) I’ve really lacked enthusiasm… until THIS YEAR! A new O HI O friend sent me a shady email from a site called DrawNames.com— it wasn’t until she commented on FB that I needed to respond to the email, that I knew it wasn’t SPAM.
Turns out @DrawNames is an easy way to organize a Secret Santa, it’s a Secret Santa Generator (!) and I’m actually REALLY excited to be a part of one! I’ve never joined in these mainly because I usually over spend and/or am so incredibly undecided about what to buy that I go crazy– but DrawNames even allows you to create a wishlist from the site itself! We set the spending cap at $20 and it gave us tons of “under $20 gift ideas” which each person within the Secret Santa group can choose from for their wishlist! Isn’t it just wonderful? I think so!
Let’s face it, not everyone has time to schedule the two parts of Secret Santa- the night of the drawing, AND the night of the exchange- so DrawNames has simplified the process!
If you guys have a little more in the bank (higher spending cap,) and more people in the group…it can only be more fun! …Although I don’t think there are really GREAT wishlist options for big(ger) ticket items.
