Living Life Like a Country Song

This post comes on the heels of a Saturday night at BB Kings dancing and enjoying Jimmy Kenny and the Pirate Beach Band – a Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney, and Zac Brown Band cover band.

Look closely, I’m right up front in the crowd!

Why can’t we all just live life like a country song? I mean… I guess a lot of people do already, namely in the South and Midwest, but how about New Yorkers? What if for just one day we lived like Zac Brown in “Chicken Fried”? So happy and grateful and humble. New Yorkers can be all of those things but do we let the hustle and bustle prevail too often? I definitely let it!

…It’s funny how it’s the little things in life that mean the most
Not where you live, what you drive or the price tag on your clothes
There’s no dollar sign on a peace of mind, this I’ve come to know
So if you agree, have a drink with me,
Raise your glasses for a toast

To a little bit of chicken fried
And cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio on
I love to see the sun rise
See the love in my woman’s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother’s love
